Teen Afterschool Program
Calling all Oak Park middle and high school teens!
Oak Park middle and high school students can enjoy FREE access to the CRC from 3:00-6:00P Monday through Friday when school is in session. During this time, structured and unstructured activities and spaces will be available and supervised by CRC staff including access to the esports lounge, gymnasium, community rooms, and multipurpose room.
Through a partnership with the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township (CMHB), the Youth Afterschool provides regular opportunities for youth to participate in mental wellness workshops designed for adolescents and teens. Workshops are designed to help youth gain and maintain overall mental wellness, share information, and engage in skill-building activities designed to optimize their mental health and create knowledge of available resources. The program does not include any direct counseling, individual therapy, group therapy, or any other intervention provided by a licensed clinician.

Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 school year.
All teens interested in participating in Afterschool programming at the CRC must have a free membership. Teens cannot sign up for this membership without adult approval, and must be enrolled by their legal guardian.
Afterschool Youth Committee
A teen-led program of teens (grades 6-12) create, develop, and lead programs for their peers. These youth are also involved in managing a program budget and learning how to allocate funds for instructors and supplies.
The Youth Committee has the opportunity to lead community service projects building their capacity for self-reliance, self-sacrifice, social responsibility, teamwork, and mentorship, which give youth more control of their future and a sense of belonging and connection. The goal of the program is to provide a safe welcoming space for teens to have recreational opportunities as well as social and emotional support.
