Staff and residents

Household participation has been increasing annually in recent years. 2025 had the highest household participation on record at 56%.

With the opening of the CRC, interest among age groups that previously did not participate in Park District programs spiked as they tried our the new facility and signed up for memberships.

Oak Park Age Group Participation

The Park District defines the measurement as the number of unique resident customers that have been registered for any program or league, or who have purchased a pass to any of the Park District’s facilities or programs processed through the Park District’s recreation software system in the current year divided by the number of residents in Oak Park in that age group as indicated by the most recent Census data.

Residents and staff

Participation across all age groups in 2025 either increased or maintained its 2024 level. Adult participation was up 7% and Seniors were up 5%.

The CRC facility has contributed towards increasing participation among adults and seniors.

Program & Pass Scholarships

The Park District defines the measurement as the number of unique resident household accounts that have been approved and have used scholarship funds to register for a program or pass in the current year. This represents households which can include multiple family members.

Oak Park residents, staff, community groups

The number of households receiving scholarships continues to grow. In 2025, 440 households and 965 individuals were recipients of these funds and childcare discounts.

We include the financial assistance application on the program guides and send out direct postcard mailers. We work with D97 to simplify the application process for those who qualify for free/reduced lunch.

Service Satisfaction

The Park District defines the measurement as the average score, on a scale of 0-10, from the current year, from the Park District’s Service Satisfaction Survey indicating customer satisfaction with the service provided by the Park District in the areas of Facilities & Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Customer Confidence, and Customer Care.
